HOW IT ALL BEGAN

From an early age, Birger was fascinated by everything to do with fishing. Alone or with friends, he fished in the sea and along the shores of river Nissan. It was not really about any particular water or favorite species. As soon as he caught a fish, Birger was happy.

Carp fishing abroad can be a blessing but also a curse. The new experiences can sabotage for the fishing at home. And that was where Birger and Agard had ended up after their trip to Fishabil. Nothing worked. But then Hagasjön appeared – an almost forgotten water deep in the forests of Småland.

The carp lakes near Gothenburg have a special place in Birger’s heart, especially Härlanda tjärn. Here he has always felt welcome by the local carp anglers. But what mainly keeps Birger’s flame burning is “Brorsan” – one of Sweden’s coolest fish.

The large French lake Lac du der Chantecoq is a classic water for monster carp. For almost 20 years, Birger had dreamed of spending a few weeks on its muddy beaches. But the lake is large and difficult to fish. In the end, he and Henrik Berntsson decided to accept the challenge.
